Dr. Wang received her Ph.D. from the Georgia State University. She then pursued postdoctoral study with Dr. Peter Sicinski at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical University. Dr. Wang was then recruited to the NCI-Designated Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC and established her independent research program in the Department of Cell and Molecular Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics at Medical University of South Carolina in 2018. The focus of Dr. Wang’s laboratory is to understand the mechanisms of tumor progression through analysis of both the cancer cells as well as the tumor infiltrated immune cells.
