Biography
Dr. Adrian is a tenure-track Instructor in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) College of Nursing. She began her nursing career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at MUSC, where she provided family-centered care for infants with complex medical needs, including those experiencing Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS). This experience inspired her research focus on evidence-based, compassionate care practices, ultimately leading her to pursue a PhD in Nursing Science.
Since 2019, Dr. Adrian has taught across diverse clinical and didactic courses, fostering student engagement through innovative teaching strategies and experiential learning. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in the shepherd-leader model, emphasizing compassion, professionalism, and individualized mentorship.
A Certified Nurse Educator, Dr. Adrian is committed to preparing practice-ready nurses who combine clinical excellence with empathy and integrity. Her scholarship focuses on advancing nursing education, simulation-based learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration to strengthen the nursing workforce and improve patient outcomes.
