Biography

Scott Nolt, Ed.D. is an Assistant Professor and Instructional Designer in the College of Health Professions with experience in learner-centered design, online learning, and problem-based learning methodologies. Previously he served as an instructional designer at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he supported their problem-based learning curriculum and worked with faculty to develop engaging course content for self-directed learning. Prior to Wake Forest, Scott was Online Learning Coordinator and Instructional Designer at Cabarrus Virtual Academy (2021-2024), where he led development of self-paced online high school courses and professional development programs for instructors. Before his instructional design work, Dr. Nolt was a high school history teacher and college cross country coach. Dr. Nolt holds an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Carolina (2023), an M.Ed. in Learning, Design & Technology from UNC Charlotte (2020), and a B.A. in History & Philosophy from Pfeiffer University (2001).
