Biography
Dr. James Sterrett is an Associate Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. He is a board-certified ambulatory care pharmacist. His clinical focus is on the provision of evidence-based pharmacotherapy, chronic disease state management, motivational interviewing, and telehealth. He is also a board-certified diabetes care and education specialist. He has experience working in several clinical settings, including academic-based Family Medicine clinics, free medical clinics, community-based pharmacies, and Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers. Dr. Sterrett’s scholarly activity focuses on academic-community partnerships and interprofessional, team-based models of care to improve health outcomes for uninsured, underserved, and marginalized populations. He has a proven track record as a contributing interprofessional team member, working with advanced practice nurses, in improving outcome measures across numerous grants and partnerships.
