Biography
Dr. Killeen received her Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of South Carolina/Medical University of South Carolina in 1998. She is a former National Institute of Nursing Research and American Nurses’ Association Research Scholar. She has worked in the field of addiction and comorbid disorders, specifically PTSD, for 27 years. She has been principal and co-investigator on numerous NIH grants involving behavioral and pharmacologic interventions. As a co-investigator and dissemination specialist with the National Institute of Drug Abuse Clinical Trials Network since 2001, Dr. Killeen’s interest and
expertise is the transport of evidence based interventions to front line
community treatment providers. Over the years, she has trained and supervised numerous clinicians from both academic and community settings in the delivery of evidence based practices, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Contingency Management, Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention and integrated trauma focused therapies. Dr. Killeen has been a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers since 2003 and a Motivational Interviewing supervision trainer since 2007.
