Student Health Insurance
MUSC requires all students to maintain health insurance as a condition of enrollment.
All enrolled students may be seen at Student Health Services, regardless of your health insurance plan. There are no charges for office visits or for in-office testing.
Insurance becomes necessary to cover services that cannot be provided in the clinic, which includes sending out labs, imaging studies, specialty referrals, emergency medical care, surgical procedures, medications, and hospitalization. You are encouraged to choose the insurance plan that best meets your needs. This plan can be a personal private plan, a plan through your family/spouse, or the school-sponsored student health insurance plan through BlueCross BlueShield. For more information about insurance and the MUSC-sponsored student insurance, visit the
Student Health Insurance page.
