Annually, an early- to mid-career faculty member at MUSC, is selected to receive this monetary fellowship award. The funds are intended to support the recipient in building a collaboration with a renowned expert in their field. Additionally, the fellowship includes a Mentor Award for the identified expert and a reception to honor the fellowship recipient. The reception also provides an opportunity for the recipient and other MUSC faculty members to network.
The purpose of the Darlene Shaw Award for the Advancement of Women Faculty is to recognize the MUSC faculty member who best demonstrates excellence in his/her commitment to the advancement and promotion of women faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina.
This year, the recipient of the ARROW Darlene Shaw Advancement of Women Award is Dr. Tanya Turan, Professor and Vice-Chair in the Department of Neurology.
The ARROW Program semi-annually recognizes a prominent, nationally- and internationally-known scholar, bringing them to campus to expose MUSC faculty and trainees to role models.
