American College of Medical Quality

The American College of Medical Quality's mission is to provide leadership and education in healthcare quality management. In recent years, there has been a movement within the College to bring students, residents, and fellows of diverse healthcare backgrounds into the medical quality fold. With this in mind, the first-ever Student, Resident, and Fellow ACMQ Chapter here at MUSC will bring educational and quality improvement project opportunities to its members, while providing a setting in which to network with others interested in medical quality.

Student Interprofessional Society

An aspect of Interprofessional Initiatives is the Student Interprofessional Society (SIPS). SIPS is a campus-wide student group dedicated to promoting the concept of interprofessional education. As future healthcare professionals, students at MUSC will be expected to collaborate successfully with a wide spectrum of people outside their specialty. This group was created to facilitate interaction between disparate disciplines while still in professional training. Through such interaction, it is hoped to improve interprofessional collaboration and thus patient care and outcomes. SIPS coordinates a variety of service and social events designed to help students of all colleges at MUSC learn from, with, and about each other. Membership is open to all students.
