Explore Tech Wednesdays

Explore Tech Wednesdays is a semesterly immersive classroom technology and pedagogy experience to discover the features of our classrooms and learn about integrating technology in your teaching. In each session we will demonstrate best practices for maximizing the benefits of the classroom space and technology, offer teaching tips, and answer your questions. You will have time to experiment with the technology and some of our sessions will also feature a faculty or staff member who will share their firsthand experience with leveraging classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Registration is highly encouraged so we can send a calendar invite and follow up with participants.

When and Where?

  • All sessions are in-person in BSB 502, and to accommodate diverse schedules, we are offering two sessions.

  • February: 21st 11:00 – 12:00 OR March: 20th 1:00 – 2:00
This semester we will be highlighting the Mersive Solstice sharing and collaborating capabilities.

SOTL Learning Community

In responding to the results of an educational needs assessment one of ITFR’s Strategic priorities is to establish a university-wide infrastructure that actively supports the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). To achieve this, we have partnered with Education Innovation Advocates Jennifer Wisniewski and Christine Andresen to launch the inaugural SoTL Learning Community for the Spring 2024 semester!

SoTL is the evidence-based practice of teaching/learning and bridges the gap between learning theories and the practice of teaching, as it contributes to the cumulative body of knowledge of effective practices in health sciences education. As a member of MUSC's SoTL Learning Community, you will have the opportunity to increase your SoTL knowledge and understanding, find inspiration, connect with collaborators, and identify project resources.

Note that spring slots are filled

How will we collaborate and meet?

To facilitate a smooth onboarding process, you will be added to the SoTL Learning Community in Microsoft Teams and invited to all 5 meetings, which we plan to have recorded in case you are unable to attend live.

Do we have a book that will guide our time together?

Yes, resources & tools will be shared between sessions as appropriate, but here are a few seminal resources for the SoTL cohort. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

  • One participant from a ITFR program initiative who will share based on their experience.
