Students from the six colleges at the Medical University of South Carolina gathered for the May 19, 2017 commencement ceremony, on a day that included sunshine, smiles, a speaker with an unusual resume and plenty of family and friends to celebrate. More than 600 students marked the completion of their degrees during the spring commencement ceremony on the MUSC Horseshoe. The featured speaker was Wofford College President Emeritus Benjamin Dunlap, who told students to explain not only the what and how of medicine to patients, but also the why. Dunlap, a prolific author, honored professor and TED talker, is also a former performer with the Columbia City Ballet.
