MUSC, in collaboration with Carnegie, has received the 2024 Communicator Award of Excellence for Film and Video in Education for its brand anthem video. The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts announced this significant recognition as part of the 30th Annual Communicator Awards, celebrating three decades of impactful communication.

The Communicator Awards are renowned for recognizing excellence, effectiveness and innovation across all areas of communication. Receiving the Award of Excellence, the highest honor, places MUSC’s brand anthem video among the best in the field. This award is given only to those whose exceptional communication skills position them as leaders in their respective industries.

The creation of the brand anthem video demonstrated the power of collaboration. Over the course of a year, MUSC and Carnegie’s dedicated communications and marketing professionals worked tirelessly, resulting in a powerful representation of MUSC’s mission and values.

“Amid our commencement celebrations last week, we received the thrilling news about this prestigious award,” said Lisa K. Saladin, PT, Ph.D., executive vice president for Academic Affairs and provost. “This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to the collective effort and dedication of everyone involved, for which I am truly proud.”

Saladin emphasized that working with Carnegie, a leader in higher education marketing, has been an exceptional journey for MUSC, pointing to Carnegie’s innovative approach and creative direction, both of which were pivotal in bringing the brand anthem video to life. The partnership allowed MUSC showcase its brand message and commitment to excellence in education, research and patient care most effectively.

“Our collaboration with Carnegie has not only elevated the MUSC brand nationally but truly demonstrated the power of creative teamwork,” added Tom Givens, director of Enterprise Brand. “The video does a wonderful job at highlighting MUSC’s unique strengths and inspiring stories.”

Looking ahead, MUSC is excited to build on this success and continue its partnership with Carnegie. The University aims to explore new opportunities for creative collaboration, further enhancing its brand presence and impact.
