Scholarship donors and student recipients gathered March 30 for the sixth annual MUSC College of Medicine Scholars and Benefactors Celebration. More than 200 people attended the event at the Country Club of Charleston, joining guest speaker Dr. Robert Ball (COM ’70) in celebrating the future of our students' careers in medicine and the generous supporters who make that future a possibility.
The event provides an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of the College’s scholarship recipients and to express heartfelt gratitude to the many donors whose generosity and support have been, and continue to be, vital to the College’s missions of medical education, research, and clinical excellence.
With state support representing just 5% of the Medical University’s total budget, scholarship support is needed now more than ever. We believe a career in medicine belongs to the most gifted, hardest working individuals among us, and it should never be denied because of a student’s financial challenges. Learn how you can establish a scholarship to help support future physicians.
