Rick Dhillon, a practicing dentist in Greenville, was invited to join the MUSC Foundation Board of Directors in August.

The MUSC Foundation was chartered in 1966 as a charitable, educational foundation to support the education, research, patient care and other programs at the Medical University. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, contributions to which are tax-deductible. The MUSC Foundation's Board of Directors governs the work of the foundation and shapes the foundation's direction through its mission, strategy, budget and key policies; ensures that the leadership, resources and finances in place match the foundation's vision; and monitors and improves the performance of the organization.

Dr. Dhillon has lived in Greenville since he was 2 months old and attended school in Greenville through high school. He graduated The Citadel in 1993 and was the regimental athletic officer his senior year. After The Citadel, he attended James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine and graduated in 1997. He met his wife, Pamela, in dental school and they married after graduation, set up practice in Greenville, and have practiced  together since 1999.

Rick has been an active member of the American Dental Association, Piedmont Dental Society, Greenville Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has a passion for helping patients and enjoys mentoring young dentists who are about to graduate and ones who have already graduated.

In his spare time, Rick enjoys playing golf, working out, and spending time building relationships at work and outside of work. He enjoys spending time with his daughters, Brooke, 16, and Alexis, 14.  His girls keep him busy in sports and extracurricular activities. Because of practicing dentistry for the past 23 years in the same town, he has been able to meet and influence people in all aspects of his life.
