SCAPD Endowment

November 06, 2020

The South Carolina Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (SCAPD) has established a faculty endowment for the college’s postgraduate program in pediatric dentistry with a pledge of $50,000. The endowment will provide a permanent, annual stream of income to supplement faculty salaries in the department.

According to the academy’s most recent Past President Dr. Isabel Driggers (Class of 2002), members chose to support MUSC because “…it’s our state school and a lot of our members are alumni of MUSC. We wanted to make a contribution to our profession, and our members are excited to ensure this perpetual income for the department. We are a specialty group and decided to help a specialty school.”

The SCAPD is an organization of pediatric dentists whose primary concern is in the area(s) of pediatric dental practice, education, public service, and/or research. Its purpose shall be the advancement of the specialty of pediatric dentistry for the benefit of the oral health of the public through the efforts of the dental profession. As a group, the SCAPD is dedicated to fulfilling the roll as advocates for the oral health needs of children and individuals with special health care needs in South Carolina.
