Celebrating achievement: PREP Program's triumphant research Symposium

What an inspiring culmination to a year of dedication and groundbreaking work!

Recently our incredible Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) students captivated attendees as they presented the cutting-edge research they've been immersed in for the past year. This rigorous and immersive program is truly a springboard for future scientific leaders, and their symposium was a testament to their remarkable growth, from initial hypothesis to compelling data.

The PREP symposium wasn't just a presentation; it was a vibrant showcase of their evolution as researchers, highlighting the technical and analytical skills they've honed and the significant scientific questions they've tackled. We are thrilled to announce that all six phenomenal participants will be embarking on their Ph.D. journeys this fall, with two exceptional scholars choosing to continue their advanced studies right here at MUSC’s College of Graduate Studies (CGS)!

Each year a handful of students engage in post-baccalaureate courses specifically designed to prepare them for pursuing their Ph.D. We strongly encourage individuals with a deep interest in practicing in rural, medically underserved, or economically disadvantaged areas in South Carolina, and in addressing health disparities in the communities they serve, to apply.

PREP is a testament to our commitment to fostering a diverse cohort of future medical professionals who will make a significant impact on health care in our state.
