Health Professions

Richard Bottner, DHA, Class of 2020, accepted a new position as chief clinical officer at the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare.

Ken Deans, DHA, Class of 2023, and Matt Reich, MHA, Class of 2018, presented at the South Carolina Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (SCHIMSS).

Gail Marcus, DHA, Class of 2018, accepted a new position as an expert in residence at DigitalDx Ventures.

Victoria Peck, MSPAS, Class of 2023, accepted a job in Charleston working in vascular surgery.

Zachary Sutton, DHA, Class of 2023, and PA, Class of 2010, has a new role as co-chair elect for the MUSC APP Council.

Nursing

Shaylin Alley, BSN, Class of 2020, got married on Aug. 25, 2023, and moved to Indiana in early 2025 to become an RN case manager after two years of travel nursing.

Cameo Green Coleman, DNP, Class of 2012, earned a post-doctorate certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Purdue University.

Betty Day Lightsey, Class of 1947, passed away Feb 25, 2025, at age 98. She served in the United States Navy Nurse Corps.

Ifeoma Onyeike, DNP, Class of 2023, passed the Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN) exam and published her Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) project, "Implementation of an Advance Directives Completion Protocol for Hospitalized Patients with Serious Illness: A Quality Improvement Initiative," in the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing.

Medicine

Kevin Gray, M.D., Class of 2000, was appointed chair of the MUSC Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, effective July 1.

Michelle Hudspeth, M.D., Class of 1999, was appointed secretary/treasurer of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.

Pharmacy

Anthony Declue, Pharm.D., Class of 2016, was awarded the 2025 Phi Lambda Sigma Alumni of the Year Award.

Dottie Farfone, Pharm.D., Class of 1999, was elected to the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
