Laboratory Assistant (Job Number: 065), College of Medicine, PATH Basic Research CC

Job Description: Potential research projects involve work in animal models of hearing loss and postmortem human cochlear and nervous system tissues. Specific duties include to perform data collection and analysis on hearing function and other behavior tests using animal models of hearing loss and neurodegenerative disorders.

Qualifications: We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual with a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Biology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry, Immunology, Genetics, or other areas or Biomedicine. The ideal candidate should have a record of research experience.

Communications Specialists III (Job Number: 051), College of Dental Medicine- Communications and Marketing

Job Description: Assist in filling out Instagram content calendar by identifying photo opportunities that illustrate the student experience and represents all four years of dental school. Assist in compiling content for Instagram and digital screens by obtaining recording photo consent, taking photos and designing graphics from provided templates. Take photos, draft, revise captions. Serve as liaison to the college's student associations that run Instagram accounts. Maintain list of students responsible for organization's social media accounts. May occasionally attend student association meetings and help communicate MUSC social media policies/standards. Obtain and record consent from featured students from the college's official Instagram account to share student spotlights from student association accounts. Assist Communication and Marketing Director with project to increase visits to our residency webpages by researching other university's residency webpages and making note of best practices. Learn conductor tool for search engine optimization (SEO). Identify potential FAQ topics to add to residency pages and research other university residency FAQs. Compile photos and bios from residents. May learn Sitecore content management system and assist in making text updates as needed to the college's webpages. Track progress in Marketing Request Log.

Qualifications: At least one year of experience as a dental student and be a current student at the James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine

Graduate Intern (Job Number: 016), Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (Office of Training and Intercultural Education)

Job Description: Assist with the compilation of diversity and inclusion workshop evaluations for reporting purposes; assist the Associate Chief Officer for Inclusive Excellence and the Training and Intercultural Education Team in research of best practices in academic health care related to self-awareness, self-development, student engagement and organizational values; support/assist in the preparation and facilitation of workshops facilitated by the Department of Diversity Equity and Inclusion as time permits; work directly with the Program Coordinator for Training and Education to develop best practices for infusing diversity, equity and inclusion in diverse graduate internship programs; assist with the coordination and implementation of the department pipeline programs; assist with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Must be enrolled as a full time MUSC student and have a desire to work on a collaborative team committed to ensuring an inclusive experience for all members of the MUSC enterprise. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Student must be dependable, responsible, thorough, organized and work effectively independently.

Job Description: Support recruitment and marketing efforts for CHP academic programs. Specific duties will include: data entry, preparing event materials, communicating with student ambassadors, responding to emails, assisting with recruitment events as needed. May also provide support to the Office of the Dean or development Team.

Administrative Assistant (Job Number: 068), CHP – Finance and Administration – CARES Clinic

Job Description: Provides administrative support for the Community Aid, Relief, Education and Support Clinic (CARES) Therapy student-run free Clinic, a highly visible and dynamic program. Manages complex online documentation systems. Updates and maintains policy and procedures for the CARES therapy clinic. Optimize clinic workflows and enhance patient scheduling systems, serving as the primary point of contact for patient scheduling and referrals, coordinating student volunteers, scheduling clinicians, coordinating interpreter services, and providing key insights for clinic improvements. Provides visionary assistance along with CARES faculty in ideas to improve the CARES therapy clinic. Provides support for supply ordering and travel arrangements related to the CARES Therapy Clinic. Provide administrative support to the CARES.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree and some office support experience preferred. Proficient with current office software such as Microsoft Office. Must sign confidentiality agreement to ensure FERPA compliance. 

Benefits: This position supports the CARES Therapy Clinic with administrative responsibilities and is ideal for a MHA, PT, OT, or SLP student but is not limited to those degree programs. This position is critical for the smooth operation of the CARES Therapy Clinic which offers occupational (OT), physical (PT), and speech therapy services to the uninsured and underinsured in the Charleston area two evenings per week.
