Professional Development and Consultation

ITFR is dedicated to serving the MUSC community collaboratively and compassionately. We empower faculty and staff to advance teaching, learning, and professional development. Our commitment to excellence is embodied in the critical role that professional development and consultation play in enhancing the educational experience. While each college maintains its faculty development and educational team, ITFR serves as a university-wide hub, reinforcing and complementing these efforts. Collaborating across disciplines, we bring together diverse expertise to create a holistic approach to professional development that transcends departmental boundaries. We provide professional development and consultation in the following areas.

  1. Multimedia Integration: Unlock the potential of multimedia to engage and inspire learners. Our Academic Media team is available for special projects involving graphics and videos, ensuring dynamic and visually compelling educational content.
  2. Classroom Technology: For both new and existing faculty, navigating the learning curve of teaching in a classroom can be eased with our support. Our Classroom Technology and AV team provides orientation and hands-on practice for the technologies in centrally scheduled classrooms. Additionally, our instructional design and technology team shares best practices to optimize learning outcomes with classroom technology.
  3. Instructional Design and Technology Integration: Our approach to technology integration is grounded in effective teaching principles. We offer courses, events, and programs to address these needs, supplemented by on-demand resources. The Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) team provides strategic program and course-level consultations with Edtechs, faculty, and administrators. Tailored workshops at the college level are also available as needed.
