Biography

Elizabeth (Beth) Snyder, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC

Dr. Snyder is an Instructor in the College of Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from East Tennessee State University in 1991, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from East Tennessee State University in 1994, a master’s degree from Clemson University in 1998 in the Family Nurse Practitioner program, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Alabama, in 2014.  

Dr. Snyder started her nursing career working in women’s and children’s services (Pediatrics, Neonatal Intensive Care, Mother-baby, Newborn Nursery, and Labor and Delivery) before transitioning to the Family Nurse Practitioner role. In her more than twenty years of experience as a nurse practitioner, she has worked in family practice, retail health, emergency medicine and long-term care. 

Dr. Snyder assisted with the development of a new masters and doctoral program at another university and served as chair of the graduate program for four years. Prior to coming to MUSC in 2020, she also served in an Assistant Dean role for graduate programs at another large University.  She believes in student centered learning and enjoys both leading and serving in the academic setting. Her primary areas of interest are telehealth and education of students and practitioners on use and benefits.
